A busy year

The House Shop has had a busy year, despite disruptions due to House closures and the discovery of woodworm – although the latter turned into a blessing in disguise as it led to a stringent clear out of furniture, enabling Allison (Shop lead) to trawl the House for suitable replacement items.

Our Team

currently nine members with a wide range of talents make Items for the shop, mostly from donated resources.

The Shop

The shop has four areas of relevance to the House and Estate

1. Preserves and Honey products, Archie’s wooden toadstools, fruit and the like, cats, hedgehogs, and bees.
2. Crafts – Bonnets and shawls, felted brooches.
3. Tartan – diverse range of items made with donated tartan from Nicolsons, Holland and Sherry, such as feathers and bunting to bags of all shapes and sizes.
4. Branded merchandise – keyrings, clocks made with slates from around the Estate, mugs and so on.

Our New Name

In honour of the upgrade and its location within the House, the Shop now has a new name,

‘The Linen Room’.
