We are open most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:30 am to 4:00pm for the 2026 Season from April 18 to November 2.

Entry is normally by guided tour, so booking ahead is advised, however, we accept walk-ins. Those not pre-booked will be placed in the first available tour group.

We currently offer discounts for local residents!

During Summer garden tours are available every Sunday at 11:30am and 1:30pm. Please follow entrance signs and enquire at the check in desk.

The Shop is also open on our public opening days.

Bannockburn House is located near the junction of the M9, A91, and A872. We are 0.2 miles from Junction 9 – Bannockburn Roundabout on the A91 towards Alloa/St. Andrews.

We are located beside the busy A91, which has no pavements or dedicated cycle lanes, so we recommend travelling by car or taxi. On-site parking is available and is normally included with admission. Visitors arriving by train should travel to Stirling Station and take a taxi, as there is currently no direct bus service. Cyclists should be aware of the road conditions and may ask a member of staff or volunteer about secure places to leave a bicycle.

We ask you arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking. You’ll need to park and walk down the drive to the house from our carpark. Please follow the entrance signs at the pillars which will take you via the Woodland Walk, around the house to the back garden. You will see the entrance ramp and our check-in desk. The total walking distance is 0.25 miles or about 400m.

Please note the Woodland Walk is a woodchip path, surfaces are uneven so we reccomend wearing strudy walking shoes, not flip flops or open toed shoes. Dress warmly! Bannockburn House is cold, even in the summer.

If you have made an advance booking, you will recieve a pre-visit email about 48 hours before your booking with updated information.

Groups:

We are happy to accept group bookings and offer discounts based on group size. Our carpark can accomodate most coaches. Please get in touch to discuss your group booking.

Bannockburn House is under conservation and restroation with limited accessibility options. We are working towards better accessibily, please contact us to discuss your needs so we can advise. We have Blue Badge spaaces closer to the house at the entrance to the Woodland Walk. Please get in touch to discuss your needs. 

Children are welcome on most tours and events, except for tours that require hard hats and go into construction areas. Children should remain supervised at all times during the visit due to uneven surfaces and the active conservation and restoration. We offer community events seasonally for the whole family. 

Working assistance dogs accompanying disabled visitors are welcome in visitor-accessible areas of Bannockburn House. There is no requirement for a working assistance dog to wear a jacket or carry identification, but please note that general pets are not permitted inside the House. If you wish to visit with another type of support animal, please contact us in advance so that we can consider your individual circumstances and any reasonable adjustments that may be possible. 

The grounds have tall grass in areas and many animals such as squirrels, badgers, rabbits, and deer. We do not currently have fencing to protect your dog from going onto the road should it chase an animal. For everyone’s safety we ask you leave your dogs at home until we have appropriate paths, hedges, bins, and fencing installed as part of our restoraiton programme. Thank you for your patience and understanding.     

Personal photography is welcome in most visitor-accessible areas of Bannockburn House, provided it does not disrupt tours, compromise safety or place the historic building, collections or other visitors at risk.

Flash photography, tripods, lighting equipment, drones and other specialist equipment may not be used without prior permission. Photography may also be restricted in certain rooms, during conservation work, at private events or where requested by a member of staff or volunteer.

Please do not touch, move or lean equipment against historic fabric, furniture or objects, and remain within designated visitor areas at all times. Visitors should respect the privacy of other guests, staff and volunteers, particularly children, and should obtain permission before photographing identifiable individuals.

Images taken during an ordinary visit may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes, including personal social media. Photography or filming for commercial, promotional, professional, press, broadcast, research, wedding, portfolio or monetised online use must be agreed with Bannockburn House Trust in advance and may be subject to a location fee, supervision requirements and separate terms and conditions.

The use of photographs or footage must not suggest that Bannockburn House Trust endorses a product, organisation, campaign or viewpoint without written permission.

Bannockburn House is undergoing active conservation, and access arrangements may change at short notice. Staff and volunteers reserve the right to stop photography or filming where it presents a safety, conservation, privacy or operational concern.
