Archaeological Dig
Help us find Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Lost Camp!
In January 1746 while plotting the last siege of Stirling Castle, Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Young Pretender to the British Crown, our King from over the water stayed at Bannockburn house, and we think some of his troops camped in the grounds…but we don’t know where….can you help us find it?
To cover the costs of the exploration – professional archaeological supervision, post-investigation analysis and reports, data production etc. we are inviting support from the metal detecting community.
£25 = You will be named in the post-investigation report as a supporter.
£40 = Commemorative t-shirt and named in the post-investigation report as a supporter.
£65 = All day metal detecting session, commemorative t-shirt and named in the post-investigation report as a supporter.
Are you a local resident?
If you are a local resident and would like to participate in this investigation, please email [email protected] or message our Facebook page as soon as possible, letting us know if you would like to take part on Saturday 4 or Sunday 5 August.
Please also let us have a note of your postcode and an email address and telephone number that we can contact you on. We will be giving preference to those who live in the Bannockburn and Hillpark community if we have more names than the limited places available.
