Bannockburn House celebrated the start of its popular spring and summer tours with an Easter Open Day for all the family on Sunday 14thApril 2019. Visitors enjoyed egg-painting, heritage treasure trails, storytelling, face painting and home baking, as well as taking part in the first guided tours of the year.

A Little History
If you don’t already know, our house is owned by the local (Bannockburn) community, it is an A listed, Jacobean mansion set in a 26-acre estate and has a history that includes medieval battles, the Jacobite rising, the love life of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the introduction of clan tartans to the general population.
Guided Tours
Our volunteer history team will be running guided tours every Tuesday and Sunday from April to September, giving visitors the chance to see the architecture behind the doors of our mansion and hear details of its colourful past.
All the funds raised from our guided tours will be used to restore Bannockburn House and its gardens to their former glory as a centre for community activities and visitor attraction.
Our Chair
Alan Marshall, Chair of the Bannockburn House Trust, said:
