GET BANNOCK MAKING TO MARK BATTLE’S ANNIVERSARY

June 14, 2021

Bannockburn House will host the last in a series of three cook-along sessions on Wednesday 23 June, when the team will be whipping up some Bannocks to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn.

Head Gardener Kate White and Project Support Manager Sheila Taylor will be joined by Chef Sara MacMillan from The Kitchen at 44 King Street to demonstrate how to make the traditional Scottish recipe live on the Bannockburn House Facebook page at 4pm.

BannocksSheila said: “Kate and I will be battling it out to see who can make the best Bannock. Sara will judge whether sweet or savoury wins on the day!”

Thanks to funding from Scotland Loves Local, the first 30 local participants to register will receive a free ingredient pack delivered to their door (you must live within 5-mile radius of Bannockburn House). To request a pack email: [email protected]

A recipe card will also be emailed out to anyone living further afield who wants to join in for free, detailing the ingredients and any utensils required.
